The Falderals [fal-der-al]: an old nonsense folk lyric The Falderals: a no-nonsense folk band
The Falderals is a little band with a big sound. Two voices and two guitars, a little harmonica and a lot of foot-stomping, and a collection of mischievously simple songs that blend folk and pop and heartache to create a sound that’s intimate and melodious.
Andrew has been writing and performing original music since childhood. He put out three albums in high school as the front man of the eclectic folk group Perfect Sycamore, and in college he joined the Madison pop revival as a henchman in the infamous trio known as Gatewood—a staple act at the much missed O’Cayz Corral (check out myspace.com/thegatewoods). Then he joined the Peace Corps, where he met Rebecca, a life long lover of music who honed her ear through piano lessons and clarinet before taking up guitar and unleashing her smoky alto-voice which has been breaking hearts and turning ears for years in Minneapolis. They made it out of the Peace Corps alive, just in time to form The Falderals. They have recorded two albums together, and are working on a third.
